SOCIAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Mission:
The mission of the Social Sciences department is to provide the student a God-centered view of Geography, History, Government, and Economics. The department seeks to equip students with the skills of thought, analysis, and the ability to apply knowledge to all academic disciplines, so that they may serve God and further His kingdom.

Successful students will:
1. Gain a discerning appreciation of the past, a developing awareness of the present, and the ability to practically apply such mindfulness toward the future
2. Develop a Christian perspective in various Global and American studies, addressing social issues within a moral and ethical framework
3. Understand and perform the expected duties of an enlightened and perceptive citizenry
4. Develop an appreciation for diverse cultures in the US and the world
5. Develop the capacity for rational analysis and critical judgment of others’ opinions, including the opinions of experts
6. Recognize the interrelatedness of the social sciences to all other academic disciplines
